Which Records Should We Retain in Paper?

General accounting records are most likely to address the issue of electronic recordkeeping. Generally, the purpose of accounting records is to protect investors and owners of the company. As a result, the location of the accounting records is based on the company bylaws or on the easiest way to get that information to owners/shareholders. Electronic records do not typically hinder this purpose, so long as the information is accessible.
